Abstract

The article details the highlights are fixed at the level of international legislation of the European Union, the organizational and legal principles of gender equality in the public administration system of European countries. Here are disclosed the provisions of the founding treaties of the EU, which regulate defined questions, and provides a detailed description the characteristic activities of the specialised EU institutions involved in monitoring the effectiveness of measures to counter gender discrimination against women in the field of public-legal relations. Emphasises the importance of the role of civil society institutions in the process of identifying high-profile cases of discrimination against women on the basis of gender in EU Member States. Outlines the direction of adaptation of the European experience to ensure gender parity in conditions of the national system of State governance of Ukraine.
